Curiouser And Curiouser…

Life/Style - 25 May, 2016

Alice in Wonderland was always one of my favourite stories as a little girl. I must have watched the animated tale of fantasy, nonsense and peculiar characters a hundred times over the years! When we saw that Alice Through the Looking Glass was to be released as a motion picture, my mom and I promised we'd watch it together.

You can imagine my delight then, when an invite to the Perth Preview Showcase of Alice Through the Looking Glass at Event Cinemas Innaloo popped up in my inbox - followed a few days later with an exclusive postal invitation to the pre-premiere Mad Hatters high tea party! Well, it's not everyday you get an invite to a Mad Hatters tea party - especially one with cupcakes and red rose cocktails...

Beauty In Bloom

You Beauty - 22 May, 2016

Every girl remembers how their mom smelt when they were little, growing up. Some of my earliest memories of my mom are evoked by scent, remembering the fragrance of her embrace as she waved me off to school or the scent of her face when she tucked me up in bed at night.

She has worn the same fragrances and used the same skin care for as long as I can remember, and it’s incredibly comforting to know that her ‘smell’ will forever hold such incredible memories for me.

Skincare from Jurlique is just what I imagine when I think of a fresh, natural scent. Their Balancing Day Cream smells of fresh, white florals and their Rosewater Mist and Hand Cream has an incredible, feminine rose petal scent...

Glow With The flow

Life/Style - 15 May, 2016

When the girls at Pure Glow first reached out to see if I fancied trying out a juice cleanse, I had my reservations. I lead an incredibly active lifestyle - and whilst I try to eat as clean and healthy as possible, I’ve never even dieted, let alone cleansed. Good genes? Not necessarily. I work hard to stay in shape, generally working out three to four times a week with at least one yoga/pilates practise thrown in - and I try to cut as much sugar and processed food from my diet as possible. But I’m not religious about it. ‘Less is more’ and ‘in moderation’ are my mantras - which have so far worked for me.

So, I went back to the girls with a suggestion - how about I see how their juices fit into my everyday routine and lifestyle. A sort of cleanse on-the-(ahem)-glow feature, where I could still eat solids and enjoy caffeine, yet reap all the benefits that are squeezed (literally) into each of their shiny 475ml bottles of juice.

Now, that’s my kinda cleanse. To just glow-with-the-flow...

Under The Weather

Life/Style - 10 May, 2016

I hate being sick, it's literally the worst! I am only just recovering from a seriously nasty bout of Bronchitis which hit me at the beginning of the month, and took me out of work for a full week.

It was so miserable. Even a heap of glossy magazines, cosy PJs (how cute is this little bear ear gown from M&S in England?!) and a full suite of Foxtel couldn't cheer me up. To top it all off, I had an inner ear and throat infection, a mouth full of ulcers, and a breakout of eczema on my face, ewww!!

Now, nearly two weeks later I'm definitely on the mend - just a little rough round the edges...
