Every girl remembers how their mom smelt when they were little, growing up. Some of my earliest memories of my mom are evoked by scent, remembering the fragrance of her embrace as she waved me off to school or the scent of her face when she tucked me up in bed at night. She has worn the same fragrances and used the same skin care for as long as I can remember, and it’s incredibly comforting to know that her ‘smell’ will forever hold such incredible memories for me.

As a result, I have always been attracted to natural, fruity, floral scents. Whether it’s picking out a fruity lip balm, burning a vanilla candle or opting for floral bath products. My washing detergents are floral-based, I just adore the fragrance of freshly cut flowers around the house and I can’t sleep without dabbing lavender oil on my wrists. Hell, even my sunscreen is coconut-based.

I have learnt a lot from my mom over the years, but the top three ultimate beauty tips I have learnt from her are;

1. To maintain a rigorous skincare regime. No matter how tired/busy/drunk(!) you may be, take the time to treat your skin right – especially at night. Nothing beats waking up to fresh, hydrated and glowing skin!
2. To invest in fresh, floral fragrances. It makes you feel feminine, refreshed and gives a lasting impression.
3. Beauty comes from within.

It’s no surprise therefore that skincare from Jurlique is just what I imagine when I think of a fresh, natural scent. Their Balancing Day Cream smells of fresh, white florals and their Rosewater Mist and Hand Cream has an incredible, feminine rose petal scent.

I started incorporating the Jurlique Balancing Day Care Cream and Rosewater Balancing Mist into my usual beauty regime a couple of weeks ago and just love how it makes my skin feel! The Day Care cream ​is lightweight yet hydrating and makes my skin feel supple, nourished and protected. I’ve been applying it in the mornings before applying lightweight foundation, and topping up my skins hydration throughout the day with the Rosewater Balancing Mist. Just because it smells so beautifully divine, I’ve also been cheekily applying this to my skin at night too along with my favourite night eye cream.

The Rosewater Balancing Mist is just gorgeous! The scent is subtle yet enduring and skin feels toned and glowing after just a few sprays. I’ve been keeping it in the fridge and using it on my clean face for a moisture boost at night – but also lightly over make-up in the day. Added bonus? It’s the perfect size to pop in your handbag for a cheeky mid-afternoon spritz refresher!

Because my mom taught me so much about my skin care, we both tried these products out and can attest to their charms; even after just a couple of uses, our skin felt more toned, soft, supple and glowing.
