WHERE: Flora & Fauna Cafe, 4/70 Aberdeen Street, Northbridge.
It was thanks to a cheeky flick through Instagram between meetings one afternoon that I first stumbled across snaps of Flora & Fauna’s delightful, decadent and delicious offering.
Delightfully tucked away on Lion Walk, just off Aberdeen Street in Northbridge (just look out for the cute bunting), it’s easy to see how this quaint little hole-in-the-wall cafe has won the hearts of so many Perthians.
From cleverly crafted, colourful breakfasts (think french toast topped with fresh flowers); to beautifully presented, healthy brunches and lunches (smashed avo on Turkish bread with a dinky pot of scrambled eggs is a firm favourite), the menu changes daily – with the kitchen rumoured to churn out up to SIXTY freshly-prepared meals every day!
Produce is always fresh, local and vegetarian, and how could I forget the delicious range of refreshing teas, freshly made pressed raw juices and locally roasted coffee.
Seating is limited, accommodating just a couple of window seats inside and a handful of cute shabby-chic tables dotted around the alleyway outside, where the trees have been dressed with buntings and cute, mis-matched crockery adorns the tables.
After just a year of opening, this micro-cafe sure has made a BIG impression on the Northbridge café scene.
A visit to Flora & Fauna is guaranteed to brighten your day – and your Instagram feed!
So, what’s your favourite hidden gem?
