Maurice Meade, You Beauty!

19.04.2016

Last week I spent an entire afternoon being pampered by the Maurice Meade dream team at Whitfords.

I've been a regular at the salon for about 18 months, so was super excited to be invited back in to check out salons new essential beauty offering for a mani/pedi and some brow TLC - but also to talk balayage, blonde and wavy layers with Style Director/Colourist, Conor and Head Stylist Tara.

Blooms & Birdies

Claremont underwent a 48hr creative overhaul this weekend as the PUBLIC 2016 Platform Festival took over the town centre! Bayview Terrace and Lemon Lane were transformed into an interactive wonderland of creativity by twenty teams of Perth's brightest minds - surrounded by live music, food trucks and an awesome pop up bar for the official opening party last night - which was such fun!

Okay, I admit that the main PUBLIC 2016 pull for me was going to see the stunning new street art by my favourite Perth urban artist, Anya Brock - but I was super taken with 'The Language of Flowers', an incredible, pretty creation, consisting of hundreds of beautiful paper flowers dangling from the ceiling - in a whole kaleidoscope of colour…

Bunny Ears & Birdies

27.03.2016

Easter has always been one of my favourite holidays! It's the perfect time to enjoy quality down time with family and friends, and be thankful for everything we have. And of course eat heaps of chocolate!

I just had to share these cute snaps of my fluffy little rascals, Thor and Kenickie. I was trying to get just one simple snap for an Easter Instagram post, but it turned into a 45 minute saga with feathers, bird shit and bunny ears flying everywhere...

Hello, Sailor!

21.03.2016

I was lucky enough to be invited on a twilight sail out on the Swan River recently, and just had to share all my pictures from the evening!

We set sail from the Perth Yacht Club just after 6pm and sailed along the river until dusk set in around an hour and a half later and we had an absolute blast! It was both fun and terrifying at the same time - and totally exhilarating to be out on the open water. Seeing the iconic Perth skyline peeking out between the sails and slowly beginning to glitter as twilight set in was pretty magical too…

Bon Voyager

08.03.2016

Anyone who knows me, knows I have an absolute obsession with Rottnest Island. Located just off the coast of Perth, 26.9km South-West of Hillary’s Boat Harbour - a few minutes drive from home - Rottnest is a little patch of paradise, with its picturesque scenery and some of the world's most stunning bays and beaches. Rottnest Island, affectionately referred to as ‘Rotto’ by locals has a special place in Western Australia's heart and is the perfect Island getaway for a day, weekend or longer if you’re really lucky.

In the two years that I've lived in WA, I have now visited the pretty little island six times - and even saw in 2016 at their NYE Beach Party... So you can imagine my delight when the lovely guys at Rottnest Fast Ferries got in touch to say how much they loved my NYE blog - and to invite me on a day trip over to Rotto on their shiny new vessel, Voyager!

The Return To Atlantis…

26.02.2016

Just an hours drive north of Perth lies Two Rocks, a sleepy little fishing town with a quaint harbour, majestic bushland and unspoilt beaches. It's also home to one of Perth's most awesome secrets - the abandoned Atlantis Marine Park.

The park, which initially opened in 1981, was set to be the glittering feature of Alan Bond's ‘Yanchep Sun City’ vision – a premier leisure, resort and residential hub riding on the back of Perth's rapid expansion. But hopes for the park were ahead of their time and it closed it's doors for the last time in 1990, just nine years after opening. It has been left abandoned ever since.
