Blonde Ambition.

"Blonde is more than a hair colour. It's a state of mind."

Over the past couple of weeks, if I had a dollar for the amount of times I’ve been asked whether I feature in the new Maurice Meade TV commercial - I’d be buying the next round of bubbles. This has amused me no end - primarily because I never realised how many people actually watch ‘Married at First Sight’ - which is the prime-time TV programme that the gorgeous new Maurice Meade adverts debuted on earlier this month… But also because, YEAH IT’S ME ON A TV AD WHICH PLAYS ON PRIME TIME TV! Hehehe.

When the dream team at Maurice Meade reached out late last year to see if I would like to feature in their 2018 campaign, I jumped at the chance. The concept of the campaign was to be focussed around blondes - the different ways to “wear” blonde, and how being blonde makes me feel...

Lately.

Okay, so I've been a little slack on the blogging front lately... Life has, as it so often does, taken over - and it's been hard to catch my breath, let alone sit down and write about what has been happening.

...and so much has been happening! So I thought I'd pop it all into one, beautifully rambling, utterly unplanned blog post to bring you all up to speed! Enjoy x

#BeTheReason

02.05.2017

So, we've all been there. Vowing to never, ever do something again. Like, ever. EVER again.

I'm not talking about the 276 glasses of vino that resulted in the world's worst hangover, maxing out your credit card on a pair of shoes you absolutely *had* to have, or texting your ex after a couple of cheeky champagnes (urgh, too guilty). I'm talking about that thing you did that took so much energy, was so challenging and required so much determination and strength, that it was quite simply an incredible accomplishment... that you vowed you would not ever, ever do again. Period. You with me?

Well, for me, this personal vow was promised after running my marathon* last year. Despite loving a challenge, I was happy to retire my marathon career there and then, and go out on a high. But then in January I was approached by HBF, to see whether I'd consider being an ambassador for their 2017 Run for a Reason. How could I say no?!

The Cherry On Top!

04.04.2017

Okay, so I’m no fashion guru. I have no idea what the current trends are, who wore it best – or what the hell will be the craze in 2034. My idea of fashion forward thinking is mixing a floral dress with leopard heels. I know, right? Wild. I've been running this blog for a few years now, and this is actually the first fashion focussed post I've ever written... I'm sorry. Stay with me!

After three years of working at a gorgeous Advertising and Marketing creative agency, last week I bid a very emotional farewell to agency life. It was a tough decision to make - but all good things must come to an end and I decided to spread my wings and begin a fresh new adventure client-side! Next week I start my new role, heading up Social Media for an iconic WA company and I'm beyond excited to take my passion, career and experience to the next level.

Being a little more corporate in how I dress however... Oh, how I'm going to miss my ripped up boyfriend jeans and Birkenstocks! It's time to cast aside the denim, comfy (un-ironed) shirts and Havi's (weep!) in favour of a little more tailoring and professional pieces.

Thanks to my lucky stars, my girlfriends at Popcherry were able to come to the rescue...

“If you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.”

We’re all familiar with this sentiment... But what if you accidentally set it free, then embark on a mass-Facebook campaign to find it again? It still totally counts as being ‘meant to be’, right?

This week I spent 24hrs without this little guy after he flew away. I'm relieved to say he's now home safe and sound after his sporadic adventure, but I genuinely don't think this would have been possible without the incredible kindness, support and compassion I experienced from Perth people on Facebook. I honestly never thought I'd see him again.

Prayers do get answered - I'll be paying this incredible miracle forward for sure...

Over The Rainbow

21.12.2016

On an average Thursday, back in July, it decided to pour down as I left the office. The heavens literally opened. Suddenly, the SUV in front of me came to an abrupt stop. There was a tiny green bundle in the middle of the road, just metres away from us, absolutely soaked as the rain pelted down from above. It was a baby Rainbow Lorikeet.

I jumped out of the car, grabbed a towel from the SUV in front and picked the freezing little bird up. Bundling her into the car with me, I spoke to the stunned little bird softly all the way home so she could become familiar and relaxed with the sound of my voice. Upon arriving home, I held her in front of a little portable heater to get her warm with one hand, as I frantically Googled what the hell to feed her with the other.

The Bali Edit Pt. II

06.12.2016

I was told I would either love Bali, or hate it - there was no in-between… And guess what? I LOVED it. Even with all the insect bites. Whilst the vision for this little blog of mine is to embrace all things Aussie lifestyle based, you’re not a real Perthian unless you’ve been to Bali at least once in your life.

I recently travelled to Bali with my best mate from the UK to the gorgeous town of Seminyak and it was delicious! We had an entire luxury villa to ourselves, with a stunning pool, spa, huge living area, spacious bedrooms and even an outdoor shower and bathroom. We were there for five full days and during that time managed to squeeze in an abundance of adventure, shopping and cocktails-a-plenty.

It took so long to edit all the pictures from this trip, that I couldn’t leave it at just one blog… so, welcome to the final piece from my duo of blogs covering our Indonesian adventure; The Bali Edit, Pt II. Enjoy…
