I blinked and somehow… it’s July? HOW? Time flies when you’re juggling work, side gigs, dog sombreros and fifty-four (mostly epic) reads. Yes, really.
At the time of posting, I’m sixty-six books deep into my 2005 Shelf Care review series – a wild mix of hot reads and a few ‘what-the-actual-f’ moments, too. If you’re after some #tbr inspo (or want to avoid a lemon, sans-tequila), check out my 2025 highlights so far.
Also, very important news: Finn recently starred in a shoot at our newest venue, Pink Taquito – his new fave tequila joint. Is there anything more iconic than a chihuahua in a sombrero, sipping Patrón like he owns the place? Two chihuahua’s in sombreros, sipping Patrón like they own the place – that’s what. Finn made a new friend in co-star pup, Ocho – though kept him at a paws distance because you know, diva-chi 🐾

What else? Mum turned seventy in May, as did my father-in-law in July – confirming that 1955 babies sure are the greatest. DDG and I have squeezed some fun adventures into 2025 so far, too – we hit the road for a dreamy caravan trip up north over Easter, fully embracing the very best hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Last month, I was lucky enough to be whisked away to Bali as a guest of Patrón to celebrate the Pink Taquito launch and activation. Is it wrong that I’m already craving our next escape?
In between it all, I’ve been hustling a few freelance gigs (because apparently I thrive on chaos), getting pretty nifty in the kitchen and keeping up the volunteering game. But more meaningfully, I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into a deeply personal project too. It’s almost a year in the making, and I can’t wait to share more when the time is right.
But for now, here’s some Finn in a sombrero content to keep your spirits high, appetite whet and tastebuds tingling. Patrón, anyone..?
¡Salud! 🌵
